In January of this year, I rolled out a new brand with a shiny new website (complete with a new platform), new business name and a new content delivery system… all really big changes in a business!
You don’t have to go all in the way I did, there is not always a need for a complete reinvention. Sometimes it’s just coming up with a new name, colours, logo etc., for me I really got to a point where the old brand wasn’t serving me anymore and it wasn’t me, not what I wanted to be known for.
In this podcast, I outline the steps I took while making my decision, and creating my new brand.
Mission - My mission had changed, I had built my website and had started taking clients on the side of a full-time permanent career. I was now a full-time entrepreneur, my site needed to reflect that!
Clients - Who I was serving changed. Over time and through my coaching work I discovered that I’m not cut out for everyone, but my message was too generic in the original model so I needed to update it.
Me - I had changed. This is the hardest part for me to speak about when I set out initially I didn’t really know what I was doing. I started thinking about rebranding to LianneKim.com, and in 20 minutes I had a mind map about who I am and although it was really hard it was great to see what I wanted to be known for.
I’ll be honest, I thought about this for over a year. I had bought my domain name over two years ago before actually doing anything about it. It’s not about a logo, new colours or a new font for me, it was about uncovering the person that I wanted to become.
