This week, I sit down with Mindy Applebaum, Founder, and CEO of Luxury Move Management to discuss how to really become the CEO of your business – and act like it!
Mindy runs an organization that takes over all of the logistics of moving, from packing and unpacking, cleaning services, to selling furniture. We met on March 13, 2020 – the day the world shut down. I remember watching Mindy bombarded with calls and messages as lockdown affected her business. At that point in her journey, Mindy was the jack-of-all-trades for her business. She was micromanaging every project, flexing her prices to be accessible to clients who didn’t want to invest in her, and trying to be everything to everyone.
A year later, Mindy is confident in her business, her pricing, and saying no to clients who aren’t a good fit. Now, Mindy has let go of her need to control every aspect of every project, and her business and personal life have reaped the benefits! She spends more time with her kids and even turns off notifications at 8:30pm. Her tips? Find what brings you peace and define your own version of success. Think about what you want your life to look like, and work towards that.
